etrailer Blue Ox Base Plate SD Non-Binding Tow Bar Installation - 2021 Subaru Crosstrek

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the etrailer SD tow bar for Blue Ox base plates on a 2021 Subaru Crosstrek. Now they're five required components when flat towing a vehicle. And the first one, starting on the vehicle side, is going to be the base plate, and the base plate attaches to the frame of the vehicle, and that's gonna allow for all your connection points for your other components. Now, going along with that, you see our tow bar here is actually attached to that base plate, and that's gonna make that connection between the vehicle and the RV. Next, you have your safety chains, and that's gonna attach to the loops on your base plate, and also to the side of the camper. That way, if they do become disconnected for whatever reason these chains are gonna hold this in place. more

Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain Tow Bar Installation - 2017 Subaru Crosstrek

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2017 Subaru Crosstrek, we're going to be checking out the Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar. So before we get too carried away and really dive in and start checking out the tow bar itself, I figured it'd be useful just to refresh ourselves on the main components that we're going to need to flat-tow our vehicle down the road in the first place. There's going to be a total of five that we're going to need. The first one is going to be our base plate, and what that's going to do is provide us with a solid and reliable connection point, that way we can hook our tow bar up to it. That tow bar is going to be the second component, and this is going to be the physical link that actually connects the front of your Subaru to the back of your motorhome. more

Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar Installation - 2018 Subaru Forester- Video

Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar Installation - 2018 Subaru Forester

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Subaru Forester, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Blue Ox Avail Tow Bar, Part Number BX7420. To help us in our installation, we're going to be using the Blue Ox Baseplace and Receiver Lock Kit, Part Number BX88177.Keep in mine, you will need a few parts to complete your flat tow setup on your Forester. We'll need a base plate, tow bar, wiring kit, and a braking system. So here's what our Blue Ox tow bar looks like. Now this is to be the connection point between our Forester and our motor home, or our flat towing. Our tow bars are going to fit directly into the hitch on our motor home, providing that it is a 2"x2" receiver tube opening. Now I do want to mention that the locks we're using here are sold separately. Now our Blue Ox Avail is going to have longer arms, which is going to equate to a better turning radius and a lot easier maneuverability, whether it be at the gas pump, or if we're just making a tight turn and worried about our Forester coming in contact with our motor home. The longer arms are going to make it a lot easier to hook up because we're not going to have to be directly behind our motor home, and when we do get ready to take off, our arms are going to extend into a rigid position allowing us to tow safely down the road.If you've ever flat-towed a vehicle before, you know that hooking up may not be that bad, but when it comes time to unhook your vehicle, it may be a little difficult. more
